The Latino Leaders Round Table Luncheon on October 20 was an afternoon of inspiration and unity, brought to life through the collaborative efforts of the Napa County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The event featured a roundtable with local Latino leaders who shared their personal journeys into public service and the values driving their work.
Rafael Rios from the Napa Valley College Board spoke on the transformative power of education and the struggles faced by immigrants. American Canyon Mayor Leon Garcia highlighted the importance of representation and family values as a pioneer founder of the Hispanic network. Napa City Council member Bernie Narvaez shared how seeing other Latinos in office inspired his own path into public service. And Calistoga City Council member Irais Lopez-Garcia spoke about her desire to shape the community her children grow up in.
Guest speaker David M. Villarino-Gonzalez of the Farmworker Institute of Education and Leadership Development brought the room together with a message about educating and empowering farmworker families, carrying forward the legacy of Cesar Chavez.
The luncheon was a celebration of what's possible when the Latino community comes together — building trust, breaking barriers, and lifting each other up through leadership and action.
